The Oak Bach Flower Remedy: An In-Depth Look

The Oak Bach Flower Remedy: An In-Depth Look

We all know those people who seem to have endless energy and always push themselves to the limit. Even when they're exhausted, they never stop working or pushing themselves. It can be admirable, but it can also be exhausting to be around them. For those people, the Oak Bach flower remedy is a great way to restore balance and find some rest.

Oak Bach Flower: For endurance at all costs

Oak Bach flower remedy is for those individuals who endure too much through relentless commitment and sense of duty, but they end up exhausted. They have lost sight of their own needs in the process of their commitment to a cause or through taking care of others. Oak people are strong, resilient and brave – just like the tree itself. They have excellent willpower and unbending resolve, but they persevere through all storms and struggle to know when to rest or when to sit back and enjoy life a little.

The Oak Bach flower remedy helps these individuals find balance again by strengthening their sense of self-care and purpose. It restores a sense of knowing when they have gone too far and need to pull back a little in order to take better care of themselves. With the help of this remedy, people learn that it is okay to slow down every once in awhile and that taking care of oneself is not a selfish act, but an important part of living a balanced life.

Without learning when to rest, the body will eventually break and may lead to a difficult physical illness.

Other Bach flowers for exhaustion

There are typically two other remedies we look to initially for tiredness or exhaustion – Olive and Hornbeam.

Olive

Olive is the flower remedy for physical exhaustion, particularly after a long period of strain or exertion such as many sleepless nights looking after a baby or a long illness. If you feel utterly exhausted, like your body is on the verge of giving up and you’ve reached the limits of what you can physically manage, this remedy is for you. This remedy will help you feel re-energised and restored.

Hornbeam

Hornbeam is the remedy for mental exhaustion or weariness. You feel you can’t drag yourself out of bed each morning and everything feels like an effort. You procrastinate as you just can’t be bothered and can’t motivate yourself to get going. This remedy will lift your spirits and give you the kick start needed to face each day.

More about Bach flower remedies

What are Bach flower remedies?

Bach flower remedies are a series of 38 different natural remedies made from flowers and trees created by Dr Bach in the 1930s. Each remedy works with a different emotion, bringing you back into balance if your emotions have moved into a negative space. They’re a completely natural, safe and gentle way to support your emotional wellbeing without side effects. Many people have heard of Rescue Remedy which uses five of the flower remedies and is there to support in times of emergency and stress. For longer term issues, or emotions not relating to stress, it’s more appropriate to work with the full range of 38 remedies.
