Walnut Bach Flower Remedy Guide

Walnut Bach Flower Remedy Guide

What is Walnut Bach flower remedy?

Walnut is one of the 38 Bach flower remedies created by Dr Bach in the 1930s as part of the flower remedy system. Each remedy was discovered to address a specific emotional state, helping to restore balance. Walnut is the Bach flower remedy for those overly sensitive to outside influence. It also provides stability and protection during a period of change, helping you stay true to yourself and not allow you to get blown off course.

What is Walnut used for?

Walnut can be helpful for all people at different times in their lives.

It has two facets to it.

Firstly, this flower remedy is helpful for those sensitive to outside influence, who have specific ambitions or a thought-out path in life but are easily led astray or pushed off track by other people (particularly those with strong opinions) or circumstances. These people may also be susceptible to lunar patterns or hormonal fluctuations.

Secondly, this remedy is helpful during times of change, such as puberty, menopause, moving house, marriage, having children, divorce and grief. Whenever you’re going through many periods of change, Walnut can help ease the way and provide stability and consistency. Walnut relates specifically to our ability to let go of the past and move forward in new beginnings.

Dr Bach wrote that Walnut is “the remedy for those who have decided to take a great step forward in life, to break old conventions, to leave old limits and restrictions and start on a new way.”

If you’re in the negative state of Walnut, you hesitate to move forward into this new beginning and get diverted by outside influences, or you can’t let go of old ways.

What are the benefits of Walnut flower essence?

Walnut helps empower you to set yourself free from old habits and move forward positively in a new direction unaffected by outside influences. It can help you:

  • Let go of the past and move forward positively.
  • Have stability in times of change, having certainty in your decisions.
  • Take the final step when moving forward in life.
  • Have protection from outside influence.

Who is Walnut most suitable for?

When you're in a blocked state, Walnut can manifest itself as:

  • You have clear goals and ideas but problems moving forward and staying true to yourself.
  • You can be distracted by outside influences such as forceful personalities, family traditions or social conventions.
  • You are making a significant life change, such as moving house, getting married, or having a baby.
  • You are going through biological changes, mainly hormone-related, for example, menopause, PMS or pregnancy
  • You are struggling to make decisions in major life changes and can’t make that final step forward.
  • Another person may spellbind you and can’t break free – for example, in an ending relationship.

Its ability to help soothe the mind during some of life’s significant changes makes it especially suitable for some situations.

Walnut and Menopause

Menopause is a significant change in a woman’s life and can be very unsettling, stressful and emotional. Walnut will help bring stability during this time and many other remedies can help, too, such as Clematis for brain fog or Impatiens for irritation. Walnut, Pregnancy and Becoming a Parent

Becoming a parent is one of the biggest life changes that mums and dads go through. It completely turns your life upside down! For mums to be, Walnut can be helpful during pregnancy to help manage the rollercoaster of hormones and emotions.

It can also be helpful immediately after the birth as hormones go haywire and you learn to manage to look after a new human and the shift in lifestyle that brings. It can also be helpful for Dad during this time.

We have a Bach flower remedies for new mums page, which lists other flower remedies that can also be helpful during this time, such as Olive for exhaustion, Cerato for doubting your judgement and Mustard for postnatal depression.
